DEX-O-TEX
Subkote #1
Underlayment

TYPE
Subkote #1 is a lightweight underlayment that can be applied in the thickness necessary to smooth or contour the deck preceding the installation of deck covering finishes. Subkote #1 is a synthetic rubber latex mastic which when trowel-applied to properly cleaned deck surfaces will adhere without the use of mechanical fasteners. It is resilient, flexible and sound-deadening, yet provides good indentation resistance. It is fire retardant, providing good thermal insulation and is moisture resistant. Subkote #1 is Coast Guard approved as Magnabond #1, a composite application with an approved magnesite (magnesium oxychloride cement).
(See CG COMDTINST M16714.3 Equipment List.)
